To this day I have yet to encounter actual drops rather than my issue of FPS limiting itself to 60 but reading the numerous posts about this I will try some intensive games without discord to see if I can find a difference. My PC is fairly new which you can guess by it handling 144 no problem on games like PUBG with their god awful optimization. I truly hope this issue gets acknowledged and fixed. I am getting used to playing with discord minimized or turned off since this is a really annoying issue that makes it incredibly frustrating when playing games that require some skill unlike visual novels where the drops do not matter at all. Every time someone wrote something into my discord server or discord started reloading (my internet is terrible) I noticed the FPS on steam clearly shot down to 60 until I minimized discord (immediately shot to 144 then). I was playing a visual novel on steam: Umineko with FPS counter turned on. Now the the actual evidence which I can replicate. Both of these clearly drop to 60 which I notice since I have 2 PCs and one of them is only 60 FPS capable where the FPS difference causes me some real headaches with LoL, OSU and Overwatch.
Same with FPS intense games like OSU! which makes it incredibly hard to play since I am used to 144 FPS.
Recently while playing League of Legends I have noticed this but only purely through feeling as the FPS counter did not change from 144. I also am experiencing FPS drops but rather than it actually dropping frames what I am noticing is discord is limiting FPS of my 144 mhz monitor to 60 FPS (I have one 60 where I have discord open all the time and one 144 mhz monitor where I play everything)
